Writing is like rides at an amusement park, you have the roller-coaster moments of highs and lows, twists and turns. You have the carousel moments of going around and around in circles. You reach great heights with perfect views like in a Ferris wheel, or great drops of terror. You could end up feeling sick from regret, anxiety or fear. Writing is taking a lucky shot which could be a hit or a miss. You could get lost in a maze of your thoughts. In the end, you enjoy the experience that you want to go again.
Every time I write, I don’t know where I will end up, but once I have finished, I look back and smile, I enjoyed the rush and want to do it again.
First Day of a Long Journey
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" is a common saying, while Malcolm Gladwell invented the “10, 000 hours” to be an expert. Today has been day one of my new journey, the road of been a published writer. The 10,000 hours of writing and waiting to complete my books has officially began. I am eager to see where this journey takes me, what my destination is and what the view will be at the end.
How it all started
Back in 2012, I started as a University Student, juggling new subjects, new timetable, new friends. I had my first laptop and all this space. Then with the timetable I had all this time. Some days I had three hours between subjects and been the first few weeks, what does a person do.
I had so many ideas in my head after hearing just the first few weeks. I was creative, I wanted change but it couldn’t be done by my actions, so I decided to come up with a world where someone’s actions did just that.
I planned and wrote and from there, a story idea formed. It helped that X-Men came out and with a man that could survive 200 years of war and change, what if I could make that ten-fold. From there, I thought about what little things could change in the past and from there, I created a new world.
